It’s like rubbing a nuanced chunk of eggplant on my body, and I couldn’t be more in love with it.
I've only been reviewing for a few months now, so I’ve seen a lot of shit. But, and I say this with whatever authority I do have- this may be the best clit toy on the market right now.
It’s rechargeable, rumbly, has 4 constant speeds and 4 vibration patterns- what’s the catch? There isn’t one. I never tried out the original version of the Touch, so I have no idea how debilitating the various imperfections were. What’s that, you ask? A company actually released a second version of a toy, with some actual improvements? (I'm looking at you with my furrowed brow.)
Let me tell you some things about We-Vibe. They are ahead of the curve in ways most other companies can’t even fathom. A multitude of casual sex toy users seem to be under the impression that a vibrator is merely a stepping stone to a partner, or something to hold off urges and desires until sex comes along. We-Vibe doesn’t make these assumptions, and they embrace the opposite.
There are people out there who think it’s possible to get addicted to a vibrator, when all they’re doing is getting ‘addicted’ to not having to deal with another person’s needs and emotions. We-Vibe addresses the root of the issue: a lack of intimacy. As a company, they listen. But if you look closely, they talk, as well- and what they have to say is pretty damn important.
They don’t know if you’re single. They don’t know if you’re part of a couple. They don’t know if you’re gay, bisexual, pansexual, or if you have an affinity for threesomes. The beauty of that is, they don’t generalize. They recognize that sex toys play a vital role in the bedroom in both solo and couple play.
Above all, though, they listen to their customers. Magnetic charging system is finicky? Not anymore. The USB charger locks in place at the base of the toy, and the Touch even has an indicator light while it's charging. Silicone too draggy? Here, let me make it smooth and velvety for you, to the point where you have urges to rub it on your face at inopportune times. It's so smooth, it's borderline silky- meaning that lube isn't really necessary. But, everyone's body is different, so if lube is needed, make sure to use water-based. It’s great that they made these features better in the second generation of the Touch and left the components that were working alone, but even more than that, it’s so nice to feel truly heard for once.
We-Vibe is also innovative. That word gets thrown around a lot, and is usually a term self-branded by eager companies who clearly have never tested their toys on an actual person. Perhaps the real innovation isn't a new type of vibration, or a quasi-ergonomic shape. Maybe innovation is simply making a product that works, and makes the user excited about it. Thinking outside the box is great, but it doesn't really mean too much when you haven't mastered what's inside of it.
Do they have a huge variety of products? No. But why worry about wading through the shit? They are honest with what they offer, and they nailed the essentials. Their Tango (and, sadly discontinued, Salsa) are regarded as the go-to rechargeable bullet vibe for pleasure and power. The Touch has a pointed tip which satisfies my need for pinpoint stimulation, and the thumbprint-esque indent scoops my labia when I'm craving a more broad, diffuse type of power. Sounds pretty innovative to me!
The Touch is incredible, and it makes me feel like all of this searching for a perfect sex toy actually means something now. It glides across my clit like butter, and while the one-button control isn’t exactly the most intuitive design I’ve seen, it’s not enough of an issue to make or break the toy. For once, the option of choosing only one color doesn't make mad either. I love it so much, it's like nothing can bring me down.
And, I don’t want to shock anyone, but they were actually kind enough to include a storage pouch for the $100+ sex toy, which is more than I can say for some other companies.
Do you want a clit vibe that has low, delicious rumbles and won't leave you feeling numb and itchy? Get it. It's reliable without being boring, and even gives you a cute low-battery warning and blinks like a homing beacon. It's also waterproof, and since the vibrations aren't buried or dampened by the silicone, it actually feels nice in the tub. For the sake of your clitoris, for the sake of your orgasms, for the sake of the world- just get it.
A huge thanks to We-Vibe, who sent me the Touch in exchange for my honest review. Their company is ethical, friendly, warm, and clearly cares about their consumers.
The new Touch by We-Vibe is available at my favorite stores, Shevibe and Good Vibrations
